Adam Lee O’Bryant, 45, of Hiram, Georgia, passed peacefully at his home on Sunday, June 30, 2024 surrounded by his dearest loved ones. He was born in Austell on 12/14/1978 to Randy O’Bryant and Tami Williams O’Bryant.
Adam graduated from Paulding High School in 1996. He received his BS in Biology from Kennesaw State University and his BS in Clinical Laboratory Science from Georgia Southern University, Armstrong State campus. He received a Master’s in Public Health degree from Georgia State University.
In May, 2001, Adam took a trip abroad to Mexico to gain further education. It was during this fateful trip that he met the love of his life, Marytere Aburto, whom he married in July, 2003. Adam and Mary completed their beautiful union when they were blessed with two daughters, Teresa and Hannah.
He was predeceased by his father Randy O’Bryant and maternal grandparents Ras and Vera Poppell Williams. Adam is survived by his wife, Mary O’Bryant; his two daughters, Teresa O’Bryant and Hannah O’Bryant of Paulding County, GA; his mother, Tami O’Bryant of Paulding County, GA; his siblings, Ashley Vaia of Deltona, FL and Shannon O’Bryant of Sacramento, CA; paternal grandmother, Martha Webber of Paulding County, GA; several cousins, nieces and nephews; also, his sisters-in-law Adriana and Alejandra Aburto and brother-in-law, Lucio Sanchez.
Adam leaves behind two work families. He worked at the American Red Cross for 16-years, where he was a Supervisor in the Component Laboratory and a Reference Technologist in the Reference Laboratory. In the summer of 2018, Adam started working at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. In 2023, his hard work, excellence and professionalism led to a well-deserved promotion to Supervisor of Laboratory Operations in the Transfusion and Tissue Services department at Children’s. Adam was loved and respected by his employees. He loved his profession and, most importantly, loved his coworkers.
Adam was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandson, nephew, uncle, and friend. He had many very special friends, two of whom became honorary siblings to him. Although not family by blood, Tony Areh and Janet Boshell became more than just friends to Adam, they became siblings by heart.
Adam loved Braves baseball, University of Georgia football, and traveling with his family. His musical tastes varied to include the bluesy stylings of Chris Stapleton, to old rock and roll, to Mexican pop music, and many genres in between.
A memorial service for Adam Lee O’Bryant will be held Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Southern Cremations and Funerals (Cheatham Hill Memorial Park), 1861 Dallas Highway, Marietta, GA 30064.
In lieu of flowers, the family will provide an alternative way in which to share your support at a later date.

Oh, Adam! Words cannot convey how much I will miss you. You gave this world so much goodness. You made everyone feel special. I loved how much you LOVED your sweet family and friends. You were an inspiration to all of us. Rest in peace, my dear brother.
For his family, I am so very sorry. I pray for comfort and peace to surround you at all times. He loved you all so much and was so proud of each of you. May God be ever present in your healing. I love you!

Adam, you were kind, understanding, logical, a go-getter, and always had an open ear for what others had to say. Your kindness, understanding, and genuine care you showed to everyone you encountered left a lifelong mark on many of us who had the privilege of knowing you. Your ability to make each person feel special and heard was a beautiful gift.
Last year, when I returned to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, you didn’t wait for me to make my way to our department on the second floor. Instead, you came downstairs to welcome me personally. With a warm smile and a heartfelt, “Welcome back, this is home!”, you made me feel special and well-received. That simple yet profound gesture will remain with me forever. This encapsulated your essence to me—a true friend and colleague who made everyone feel valued and at home. I feel fortunate to have known you and to have experienced your warmth and generosity firsthand. Adam, you will be missed so much!
You were not only a dedicated colleague but also a loving father. You often spoke lovingly about your kids. Your family meant the world to you.
Teresa, Hannah, and Mary, I am so sorry for your loss. I pray for your comfort and peace.

I had the distinct privilege of working with Adam at Arc. He was the best supervisor I ever worked with. He was an all around great guy. He had a general love for UGA, Braves, and the Falcons. He saw beyond the color of your skin and embraced everybody. To his family, So sorry for your loss. May the Lord comfort his family, co-worker(past and present) and friends! Rest in power!
Adam I miss you so much. I will never forget how kind, funny you were. I never knew how painful it was to lose someone until death took you away from us. It is heartbreaking and hard to believe that you are no more with us. But you will never be forgotten. Your memories will stay with me in my heart forever. I am honoured to share some of my happy moments with you when we were working together at CHOA. Rest in peace! My brother.
Mary, Teresa and Hannah please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of your love , may God give you the strength and comfort during this challenging time
I wanted to extend my deepest condolences to Adam’s family and I am truly sorry for your loss. I worked with Adam during my time at CHOA and saw him a few months ago at the SEABB Conference. He was very genuine and kind hearted and I know he will be missed by so many. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
I miss you and you will be forever in my heart 🤍🕊🕯
I remember when Adam came to Emory Saint Joseph’s as a PRN in our chemistry department. He was so nervous because he was a blood banker. He persevered and grew so much. His pleasant nature was refreshing. He always had a smile on his face. No matter what was going on. Ill always remember that. Thank you Adam. You will always be my friend. God bless you and your family.
