Alice Faye Furgerson, age 65, of Palmetto, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home on October 7, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.Born on February 16, 1960, in East Point, Georgia, Alice was the beloved daughter of the late Bobby Frank Martin and Ollie Mae Martin. A woman of deep faith, she was a devoted member of Victory Baptist Church, where she found comfort, community, and purpose. In her younger years, she proudly served as a Candy Striper volunteer, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.Alice married the love of her life, the late Robert Fulton Furgerson Sr., on September 19, 2006. Together, they shared a deep bond and created a loving home filled with laughter, devotion, and faith. Though Robert preceded her in death, their love story remained one of her most cherished memories.Alice had a spirited personality and a wide array of interests. She found joy in gardening, fishing for catfish, cooking homemade meals, and thrifting at Goodwill. An avid fan of old movies and Scooby-Doo, she could often be found binge-watching classics with her family or scrapbooking precious memories. She enjoyed sewing, going on long walks with her loyal dog Walter, and watching wildlife in her backyard. A proud Sci-Fi nerd, Alice always had a fun fact or theory to share.Above all, Alice’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She was a dedicated mother to her five children: Bobby Furgerson (Kathy) of Palmetto, Samantha Seay (Brenton) of Palmetto, Joseph Furgerson (Lexi) of Palmetto, Joshua Furgerson (Yazmin) of Sharpsburg, and Coley Furgerson (Maria) of Newnan.She was the proud grandmother to nine beautiful grandchildren: Alison, Bobby Jr., Savannah, Logan, Joseph, Liam, Noah, Sapphira, and Scarlett.Alice is also survived by her loving brother Ricky Martin of Tallahassee, FL, and nephews Jimmy and Robert Martin, also of Tallahassee.She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, her brothers Michael David Martin and Bobby Lee Martin, and her sisters Joyce Furgerson, Cathy Higgins, and Helen Dailey.Alice Faye Furgerson leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and unwavering love. Her warm spirit, sense of humor, and passion for life will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Ms. Ferguson was one of the sweetest people I’ve met in a long time. She always had a smile on her face even when I knew she was fighting the battles she faced. She walked the halls of PES to visit her grandchildren like a proud grandmother would. I will miss her visits to our classroom!
