July 21, 1962 marked the beginning of the new life for Aline Carson. She was born into the union of Lorraine Wallace and Alvin Carson in Kansas City, Missouri. Aline was the oldest of four brothers.
Shortly after Aline moved to Atlanta, GA with her mother Lorraine and her four brothers, Donald, Cleon, Leon, and Ronald. She attended and graduated high school in 1981 from Walter F. George in Atlanta, GA. She was the first African American Women on the Air Force ROTC rifle team. She took pride in being the best she could be and representing every African women who came behind her.
In 1982, Aline began her college years at Atlanta Technical College in Atlanta, GA. She studied Data Processing. Shortly After in 1983, Aline attended Atlanta Metropolitan State College to study Nursing and Computer Science. Aline went on to graduate with an associates degree in 1985.
Aline was united in marriage with Mr. Wisdom Kwaku DeGreat on May 5, 1986, and to this union one child was born on June 3, 1989 at Grady Memorial Hospital at 10:28 A.M. They named him Calvin DeGreat. Aline was very adamant on naming her son in remembrance of her father, Alvin Carson.
She went on to land her first career at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Atlanta, GA as Administration in 1995. She also went on to work for the Education Department of Atlanta, GA in March of 2008 as an Administrative Clerk. She retired early, due to a work related injury, from the US Postal Service in Duluth ,GA as a Supervisor.
On Feburary 19, 2018, Aline was blessed with a grandchild named Zuri DeGreat. She loved Zuri so much and Zuri loved her. She was so happy to be a grandmother. Aline helped take care of her grandchild: raising, teaching, and showing her unconditional love for the time Aline had left on this earth.
On July 7, 2023, Aline Carson passed away peacefully in her sleep in her home in Austell, GA at the age of 60 years old. Aline was a proud mother and an even prouder grandmother.
She leaves her one son to mourn her passing, Calvin DeGreat; one grandchild, Zuri DeGreat; her mother Lorraine Wallace; her brothers, Donald, Leon, Ronald Carson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Aline is preceded in death by her father Alvin Carson & her brother, Cleon Carson.
