Alvin Cormier Jr. was born on October 8, 1933 to Alvin Cormier and Etsy Bevel in Beaumont, Tx. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Saint Frances X. Cabrini Church of Los Angeles.He was affectionately known as "Cormier" to some and "Tops" to others. Alvin had a gentle soul and a heart of gold. He enjoyed spending time with friends, telling stories, watching sports and famously known for smoking his cigars.In 1952 Alvin graduated from Hebert High and went on to join the United States Navy. It was his enlistment in the Navy that relocated him to California. Alvin would begin a career as a machine press operator with Alcoa Aluminum, where he would remain a valuable employee for over 25 years. Alvin had two biological children, Kathy London (deceased) and Jacqueline (Kim) Cormier-Harper (Tyrone, GA.). In 1990, he married the love of his life, Mary Cormier and gained two bonus children, Tony and Theresa, both preceded him in death.December 2022 due to his illness, Alvin and Mary relocated from Inglewood, CA. to Georgia to live with his daughter. On May 1, 2023 Alvin was called home.Alvin leaves to cherish his wife of 38 years Mary, his daughter Jackie, his only sister Ester "Mava Lynn" Auzenne (Beaumont, TX), (7) Grand, (12)Great Grand, (6) Great-Great Grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful friends.
