Mr. Andrew Kenneth Mitchell known to most as “Kenny” was born in Atlanta, Georgia on February 21, 1952. He was the 6th of 9 children born to the union of Eula B. Mitchell and Eddie N. Mitchell in Atlanta, Georgia.
He received his formal education at Turner High and Booker T. Washington High School in Atlanta and continued his education at The Job Corps in carpentry and mechanics. From the early age of 13, he held several positions including roofer, mechanic, and handyman until his retirement.
Mr. Andrew Mitchell dedicated his life to his family. At an early age he helped care for his siblings. Later in life he also cared for one of his sisters until her final days. He loved reading the Bible daily, eating Hershey Kisses or Silver Bells as he called them, laughing and joking with the family and doing pushups. He was a prime example of strength, wisdom, courage, love, and support. He was a wonderful brother, uncle, great uncle, uncle-in-law, great-grand uncle, friend and touched the lives of all around him. He always offered advice and a listening ear to his beloved ones when in need and he will be truly missed by all that knew him.
On August 29, 2023, at the age of 71, Mr. Andrew Mitchell departed his earthly life.
He is preceded in death by his mother Eula B. Mitchell, father Eddie N. Mitchell, sisters Eula M. Mitchell and Diane Mitchell.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory one niece: Melinda Mitchell; great nieces: Shanqwesha White, Skyeisha Swain, Shanterrica White; great nephews: DeAnthony Mitchell, DeMariay Mitchell, Quinterreus Mitchell; great-grand nephew: DroXyrrious White; brothers: Kerry Mitchell, Randy Mitchell, Perry Mitchell, Eddie Mitchell, Leroy Mitchell, Larry Mitchell, Robert Mitchell along with a host of other relatives and friends.
