Anthony S. Reed, better known as “Tony” to friends, family and loved ones, passed away in a warm, loving home shared with Karen Daniels. His passing occurred on January 24, 2025. Tony was born on January 31, 1963, to the late Robert H. and Georgetta Reed in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the youngest of two children.
Tony confessed his hope and love of Christ early in life. He was a deeply caring and compassionate soul during his time on earth; always quick to make friends, offering a sincere hand of help to those in need.
Tony was the “glue” to our family, always the connector for love and inclusivity ensuring every member felt the unconditional love within our close family unit.
Tony lived a full and meaningful life; from his love of good music and his everyday sensitive nature to his love of continuous learning, and his pursuit of formal education at Walsh Jesuit High School, and his pursuit of a degree at Eastern Michigan University, and ultimately his work with the union to ensure fairness and equity for workers in America. During his tenure at these institutions of learning he participated and excelled in athletics – a true wizard on the football field. a.k.a. “Ice T”. He became a devoted member and leader of “Raiders Nation”.
At his passing, Tony was not married and had no children. However, he inspired and offered love, mentorship and guidance for family members needing close love – young and old - in his immediate and extended family.
Tony is survived by his only sibling Robert (Pamela) L. Reed, his niece Jazmine N. Reed, his cousin Vic Reed and his children (cousins) Cathy (Reed) Griffin. Rachel (Reed) Martin, and Evvie Reed.
Tony was (will always be) the heart, soul and shining light of our family, with his quick beautiful smile, and his engaging, energetic personality. All characteristics which led to countless friends in life.
We already miss, and will continue to yearn, for his contagious laughter and spirit. He is well on his journey, on the fast track to heaven – Next stop the Pearly Gates. Rest in peace Tony, you will forever be loved, admired and in our hearts.
We love you!!

You will be missed….
