Barbara Joyce “Bob” Bohannon, age 71, passed away peacefully at her home on January 16, 2026, between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m., surrounded by the love of her family and carried gently into the presence of her Lord. Born on August 28, 1954, in Hogansville, GA (Troup County), she lived a life defined by faith, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
Barbara was a 1972 graduate of Hogansville High School and continued her education at Troup County Technical College, where she studied to become a key punch operator and secretary, earning her degree in computer science. She later worked faithfully at Fort Gillem Army Base as a key punch operator until her retirement. Her dedication, work ethic, and reliability were admired by all who worked alongside her.
In 1977, she married the love of her life, Richard V. Bohannon, with whom she shared 48 beautiful years of marriage. Together they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love.
Barbara was a woman of deep faith who loved the Lord and read her Bible daily. She carried a gentle, loving spirit that touched everyone who knew her. Her warm smile and joyful laugh made others feel instantly at ease, and she welcomed every person who entered her home with kindness and care. She never let anyone leave hungry, always offering food, coffee, or tea—often asking, “Are you sure I cannot fix you something?” even if they had just eaten. She was truly precious to all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Bohannon; her three daughters, Jamie Burel (John) of Griffin, GA, Christy Bohannon-Jones (Jon) of Covington, GA, and Katie Enfinger (Brent) of Colquitt, GA; and her three beloved grandchildren, McKinley Enfinger, Colten Enfinger, and Randy Jones, whom she adored beyond measure. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Chandra Carter.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Willie Mae Clarke, and her sister, Debra Thompson.
A graveside service was held on January 21, 2026, at Southern Cremation and Funeral Home, where family and friends gathered to honor her life, her legacy, and the love she poured into all who knew her.
Barbara will forever be remembered as a loving wife, an unconditional and devoted mother, a doting grandmother, a caring sister, and a faithful woman of God. Her gentle heart, her kindness, and her steadfast love will continue to live on in the lives she touched.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to everyone who visited, brought food, or offered support during her final days. Your love and presence meant so much.
She will always be cherished, deeply missed, and forever held in our hearts.

As Barbara is resting in the arms of our Heavenly Father, I send prayers and love to the family. She was always such a sweet and caring person that will be missed. Our love to all.
