Barbara Prokup Augustine

Barbara Prokup Augustine was born in Buffalo, NY, on March 7, 1935, to Peter L. and Agnes Prokup. She passed away peacefully on September 15, 2021, at the age of 86. She grew up in the Cleveland, OH area, although she considers Marietta, Georgia her home. As a military wife, she travelled the world with two young daughters in tow while supporting her husband of 33 years, Retired Lt. Col. Raymond T. Jankura. Later in life while working in the food brokerage industry, she met her current husband of 20 years, Jerry Augustine. Barbara leaves behind her beloved and devoted husband, Jerry Augustine, two daughters, Becky Jankura and Linda Jankura Popham (Dennis), granddaughter, Jenna Mappin, and one of many loved cats, Izzy, along with extended family and friends across the country. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at: Transfiguration Catholic Church 1815 Blackwell Rd Marietta GA 30066 Interment will follow at: Cheatham Hill Memorial Park 1861 Dallas Hwy Marietta GA 30064 In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Barbara’s favorite charities, St. Jude Children’s Hospital or your local Humane Society.
