Bedford “Forrest” Myers Sr. of Marietta, Georgia passed away on July 27, 2024. He was born September 27, 1945, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Guy Arthur Myers and Mary Helen Forrest. He graduated from Druid Hills High School in 1964.
As a high school graduate, Forrest joined the workforce with JCPenney supporting his family in retail management for nearly two decades. Insurance sales became an opportunity and his calling. With enthusiasm and success, he attained the Millionaire’s Council designation for his outstanding sales for the remainder of his career. Retirement meant more time with friends, deep sea fishing in Florida and dedicated time for Braves games.
Forrest took great pride in being a Dad and serving his community. Adventures with his family from St. Simons to Lake Burton were always a great time to spend summer vacations. His master grilling skills were put to good use with the Glenn Memorial Youth Group annual BBQ and neighborhood festivities. Later in his adult life, he relocated to Marietta where he met his wife, Judy. His love for travel with her expanded beyond Georgia where he embraced Brazilian culture and adventures in Cuba. He was a big personality that would light up a room with his presence and his engaging smile.
Forrest is survived by his wife Judy Haley-Myers, his son Forrest Myers Jr. of Auburn, son-in law Greg Cooper of Tucker, daughters Tricia Gesualdo (Chris) of Centennial, Colorado and Lisa Myers of Lilburn, his six grandchildren, Nathan, Leah, Carson, Charlie, Caitlin and Alyssa, and his cats Buster and KittyBell. He is predeceased by his brother Guy and daughter Michele.
A Celebration of Life for Forrest will be held at the Marietta Educational Garden Center on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 1:00 pm.
Those who wish to remember Forrest in a special way may make a donation in his memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The Price family has many fond memories of times with the Myers family on Emory road. Our children grew up together. We had planned to go to the Memorial Service, but something has come up and we will not be able to be there. Our condolences to his family.
