Bruce Elliott Newbold

November 10, 1964 ~ December 7, 2021

Bruce Elliott Newbold was born November 10th, 1964, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to William Newbold and Louise (Lampkin) Newbold. He was the 2nd child of 6 children, including Monica Lynn Walker (Lloyd), William Dwight Newbold Jr., Byron Llewellyn Newbold (Beverly), Roderick Newbold (Laticia), and Maranda Newbold. Bruce graduated from Ely High School and entered the United States Army. He attended Hampton University, where he studied Thermo Nuclear Dynamics, and played football. One of the watershed moments of his life was when Shirley Murdock serenaded him, sharing her love of his chestnut brown eyes. (I know most of you have heard this story). Bruce met Cheryl, the love of his life, and they formed a perfect union, as they went on a series of adventures. They are the parents of 5: Christopher Lewers (Tampa, FL), Christal Douglas (Coral Springs, FL), William Douglas (Atlanta, GA), Catherine Douglas (Fairburn, GA), & Jaleesa Newbold (Tallahassee, FL) Bruce’s hobby was building and racing cars. He traveled extensively to races and won many accolades (and money). He had a great passion for cooking and was a great cook. He was a fun-loving guy with a quick wit and a ready laugh. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Cheryl, 7 grandchildren; (Christopher) Maia, Ayanna (Christal) Tariq, Tashawn, Joseph, (Jaleesa) Skye, King. His mother Louise Newbold, his three remaining siblings: Monica, Byron, Roderick. Brother-In-Laws, David (Carolyn), Alfred (Maxine), Sister-In-Law Cecelia Lewers Brown. A host of nieces, nephews, RC racing buddies, Rocco his dog and faithful companion.
