Charles Edward Gruehn

Charles was born in Wilmington, North Carolina and grew up in Greensboro. He graduated from NC State University 1967 and received his master's in business administration from Emory University in 1969. Charles served his country as a US Navy Officer aboard the USS Shreveport from 1969-1972.Most of Charles' career was in banking. He retired from the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta in 2012. Charles loved traveling, spending time at Lake Oconee on his boat and jet ski and golf in Hendersonville, NC. He was also an eternal optimist when it came to NC State Athletics. Most recently he met challenging health issues with patience and grace. Charles is survived by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Linda, two sons, Christopher Keith Gruehn (Allison), Marietta, GA, and Bradford Lawrence Gruehn, Sterling, VA: four beloved grandchildren; Allen, Cate, Connor, and Evan; one brother Tom (Penn) of Browns Summit, NC. Graveside and interment services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 15, 2022, at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park, 1861 Dallas Hwy, SW Marietta, GA 30064.
