When I first met Charlton (Ted) I had no idea how much he would change my life. Ive only known him since the end of last December, but it really does feel like a lifetime. There were volatile times to say the least, but looking back I believe much of his anger was a defense mechanism. For all of those times—his sense of humor and infectious laugh made up for it. He would sometimes speak in his “made for theater” regular voice that could fill an arena and many times not making sense–but that was only to the listener not understanding what he was saying. I used to tell him he had one of the most intense vocabularies of anyone I ever met. I was sometimes jealous of how he viewed the world with complex simplicity. I learned more about life and myself as a person in the past year knowing and living with him than I have almost in my entire lifetime. I will forever be grateful that I had the honor to know him. At times, he could be so tough and fearless. I hope that he has found the peace that he longed to find and most importantly, I hope he knows that people truly cared and loved him. I will miss him for as long as I breathe.
Ted was an amazing person, very unique and misunderstood. I can’t believe what I’m reading honestly. If there is anyway you can get ahold of me, I’d like to know what happened. My name is Mike and I can be reached at Jaxmike03@gmail.com
