Compton Beaton

October 31, 1944 ~ December 8, 2023

Compton Granville Beaton made his grand entrance into the world on October 31, 1944 in Berbice, Guyana to Eric and Alphena Beaton. Compton was educated in Guyana and migrated to the United States in 1969 to make a better life for his family. In January 1970 he returned to Guyana to marry Norma Fredericks. Compton’s journey in life was unlike any other. He worked as a sailor, cab driver, and Night Superintendent at Brooklyn Navy Yard. He never settled. Compton found his success in real estate and many other entrepreneurial endeavors. He may not have been a preacher, but he was a teacher. Compton was always ready and willing to educate others on how to close a deal. He thought that the word “No” was simply an opportunity to discover something new. In life Compton was a constant presence for anyone in need. He had a special love and dedication for his entire family. During his time Compton touched many lives, too many to count. On December 8, 2023, our beloved Compton went to join his parents, three siblings (Agatha, Edmond and Gwendoline). He is survived by his wife Norma, six children; Deborah, Tony, Tonia Tucker (Deron), Stephen (Nicola), Nicole Geer (Ryan), Sanjaye Davidson as well as his surviving siblings; Idyll, Carmen, Burchell, Brentnell, Herman and Lambert; four grandchildren Jared, Jordan, Ebony, and Joel along with three great grands; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Compton’s life on earth was well spent. His unwavering love and guidance will be remembered by all.

  4. Dear Beaton & Fredericks Family,
My deepest heartfelt condolences. I pray for strength, peace and comfort. 🙏🏼 There are so many memories of “Mr.B.” as I called him, but I will share a few. From the day we met he made me feel like I was part of his family. I remember the many days when he would wake up, sometimes before the sunrise to take be to sub with no complaints. Honestly Mr. B wanted me to see that I could do anything I put my mind to and wanted me to grab every opportunity that came my way which would lead to growth and success. I will miss the Happy Birthday calls as he and mama would sing the Happy Birthday Song to me! 🎂 Our debates and discussions are lessons that have helped me grow through life. His presence in this realm will certainly be missed.
