Fairburn Southern Cremations & Funerals
D. Spring Putman ended her battle with cancer on Monday January 2, 2023. She was a Phenomenal Woman.A child of God, Spring was born April 8, 1956 in Atlanta, Georgia. She was the granddaughter of the Sims family from Anderson, South Carolina. She grew up on Fair Street Bottom in Atlanta, Georgia. She was the proud and loving daughter of the late Tommie Mae Scott (Sims) as well as sister to Cheryl Brent and Lynn Reed.Spring always put others before herself, she was a voracious reader, and loved to do projects. Upon leaving home, Spring joined the Air Force. She became a transportation sergeant and served her country living all over the world, living in such places as Florida, Washington D.C., Delaware, South Dakota, the Philippines & Korea during her service. As a caring, strong, single, vibrant mom, she raised three caring, strong, fun-loving men. Spring loved corny jokes, especially the ones found on Banana Laffy Taffy’s. She loved hearing about people’s lives, travels, and you could always count on her support and advice when asked. She was always up for an adventure, traveling to her family and taking cruises. Her home was full of music, being played and sung with her beautiful voice.Spring loved her God, her family, and her country and passed that love on to everyone she met. Upon discharge from the Air Force, Spring supported herself and her family in various employments, finally settling at the CDC. Spring believed in the mission of the CDC and loved her job. Spring maintained a close relationship with God and served at One Way Love of Christ Church, acting as recordkeeper, head chef and, often, lead singer.Family was a cornerstone to Spring. She was always there to listen, offer support, or a shoulder to her family. She is survived by her Sister Cheryl (Ed) Brent and sons, Thomas, Calvin, and Jeremy (Kacia), and her grandchildren: Nadia, Thomas, Cameron, Aaron, Trinity, Avery, Akeelah, Malcolm, and Geniece; her beloved nieces and nephews and all she considered family.
In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation be made on Spring’s behalf to St. Jude’s.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your family and you.
I remember spring being a deadbeat grandmother to AKELAH (her name doesn’t have two e’s) that just shows what type of family y’all are DEADBEATS……..Akelah didn’t even know who she was ..that she died nor was she invited to a funeral but her name is in some strange woman’s obituary? That’s crazy!
Rest in peace spring you did a great job at being a deadbeat grandmother now you can watch her be great from wherever you landed…. 💋
P.S. You raised a real piece of trash Calvin’s the best deadbeat father in all of the land. Cheers to your success 🥂
