Guestbook

  1. Deej:

I don’t know where to start, except to say that this world is less bright and less whole without you.

You always kept me and the other cousins on our toes with your animated personality. And I will never forget you finishing the statement, “What the…”

May you rest in peace, Cuzzo. I love you.

  2. I’ll always remember babysitting DJ. Such a good boy. He even named my cat, Sparkles. I’m in shock and disbelief that your young soul isn’t here anymore. I love you cuz and I hope you can rest in peace.

  3. We are so sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

  4. Dan will be missed by everyone who knew him, forever. He was a handsome, creative and stylish young man. Always a loving son. I will always remember him with love.

    Love,
    Auntie Ellie

  5. Dan, from the bottom of my heart – thank you for all of the love, laughs, and amazing memories we have shared over the years. You were truly one of a kind and you are going to be missed by many.. You have helped me in more ways than I can put into words and I will be forever grateful for all of the good times we have shared together. As long as there is air in my lungs I will keep your memory alive in my heart and In spirit. I love you brother!!!

  6. Dj, I will always treasure the times we had together. You were always smiling and I’m going to always remember you that way. You’ll forever be in my heart.
    Love Auntie Tina

  7. Awww D.J. Rest in peace, my man. Always fun (And funny)to be around!
    I’m so sorry.

  8. We are heartsick for your loss of DJ. We will never forget him, never; those dark brown eyes, just like his mama’s, his voice that carried, his stature – just like a Scopa. Always so warm whenever I’d see him – always a big hug! He was a young man who cherished his family and was a loving, caring son. Lisa my dearest friend, my sister, I have no words that would ever ease your pain, so I cry with you.
We are full of sorrow and sadness for DJ’s life that is too soon gone.

    Rene & Tommy and Family

  9. DJ has been taught the history of his family. These photos are part of six generations. You are in good hands, my son.

  10. Daniel (DJ) Payne

When loss becomes the way of life,
    and sadness rules my day,
    remembering your smile bright,
    begins to light my way.
How can my heart so empty now,
    feeling so alone
ever find the path of life,
    when yours was barely grown
I hold a memory of you,
    a hug, a laugh, a tear
knowing we will meet one day
a place so far from here
Until that day, my heart will ache
with tears of love and pride
Until that day, I once again
will have you by my side

    I love you,
    Mom

  11. Family and Godparents
So many people that loved you DJ, but love never fades, and you will forever live in all our hearts.

  12. Loved from every corner of the world.
Your family in California love you

  13. Massachusetts, Chicago, Alaska, Georgia and everywhere you traveled, you are loved.

  14. Each morning I awake with thoughts that somehow it’s not true,
the world could never be so cruel, to go on without you
My heart begins to ache again,
    every nerve on fire,
    tears turn into waterfalls,
my mind still filled with ire
And then your smile comes to me
your eyes, your voice, your laugh
It brings a wholeness to my heart
then breaks once more in half
    This ache is overwhelming,
how do I make the day
    I kneel, I plead, I beg, I cry,
no words are left to pray
For now my son, be at peace,
    enjoy your new world now
For I will hold you once again,
    someday, somewhere, somehow

Until we meet again son, know that you are loved as you always have been.

  15. DJ always held a special place for his Nana and his Papa Baer.
They will love seeing him again, looking just like his Papa.

  16. DJ enjoyed life. He overcame his struggles from speaking, writing, and differences in childhood, to become a strong, intelligent, hardworking man. He found happiness and love. He never met a challenge he didn’t take. We are so proud of you.

  17. Lisa and Family
There are words that could ever take away the pain in your hearts.
I only knew DJ as a little boy, wish I knew the beautiful man he became.
May his memory be a blessing and comfort to you.
    Love from your cousins,
    Laraine, Allan and family

  18. There are no words to properly address a situation like this. I’m mourning what was as well as what was “supposed” to be. One thing that I do know is that my brother had such an impact on so many people and to an extent that I will never know. He will surely be kept alive in memories by those people as he was someone that you will never forget once you’d met him. I love and miss you, little brother.

  19. Q: What was Daniel like as a child?

A: Cousin DJ. You were about a decade behind Marc and me. We used to practice our WWF wrestling moves on you at Centennial Ct. I’m sure your mom was happy we would burn off all that energy you had as a kid. We all had so much fun. And of course, coming up with creative ways for you to finish the phrases “What the…” and “son of a…” You will be missed.

  20. There are so many words that can
describe Dan. But none at the same
time. Dan you are the best love that
anyone could have. You chose me.
Your passion for everything you did
was one of the many qualities that
made me fall deeply in love with you.
Even our love and bond for each other
was more love that most will ever
experience. You were my light, my
strength my everything. I wish every
day that I could hug you. Even just run
my hands through your beautiful hair.
(Thanks to his mom for that hair). You
are a person in every one’s lives that
no one can describe or replace. Every
    decision you made was always
contentious of every one in your life.
    You truly and genuinely were
amazing a once in a life time man. I love
you and miss you so much. I wait for
the day that I can be with you again.
Our love was not just love. We where
soulmates. I hope if you can look
down on all of us you see and know
how much you where loved and
cherished. I believe that we will be
together again one day. Hope your
having a rad time with your papa bear.
He meant so much to you. This is your
time to relax and enjoy all the good
you gave us. I love you baby.

  21. Good times throughout 2022. We will miss you Dan but cherish the memories we shared.

  22. DJ, I’ll always remember you being the one at holiday dinners making everyone laugh. You were so loved by your family. Watch over your mom and sister. Rest in peace.
