Fairburn Southern Funerals & Cremations
Darnell Dayron Ryals was a young man of his own.He was humble, dedicated, and reliable. If you asked him to help with something, he came through. Darnell was smart. He graduated at the top of his class and attended ITT Technical Institute for electronics. He had a few close friends. He tried so hard to be there for his mother whom he loved so much. He even enlisted in the US Army to make a better life for himself with hopes to support her.
Darnell loved samurai, anime, manga, and was a collector of all things Stitch and Anime action figures. Playing Asian-action role-playing video games was one of his hobbies. He had an affinity for wolves and called himself Wing.
Wing’s journey to leave this earth has left behind his mother: Ronda Ryals-Gore; his his brother: Johnthaniel; his aunts, cousins, other family, and friends. His sister: Jontué Ryals, grandmother: Janet Ryals, and aunt: Nadine Ryals preceded him in death. Now he rests to be united with the ones who seemed to love him most.
The Family would like to thank family and friends for your prayers and support in this time of bereavement.
A Letter to the Family Based on Conversations with Darnell
Dear Family,
With such a big family, I guess there’s lots of room to get lost or slip through the cracks. Well, now I cracked the barrier and slipped into eternity.
I’m gone now and just need it said. From my experience the family needs to do better.
Family, hardly embraced me. The times I needed you most, you turned the other way. After many attempts to fit in with my loved ones, I finally realized that I didn’t. I stopped trying and embraced those who embraced me. I got tired of the silent rejection. I became a loner. Not because I wanted to be, but I felt that I was forced to be. I didn’t know I had to work so hard to matter. There was no space for me in your lives.
Living in the city of brotherly love where there seemed to be no more love, I finally decided to move to another state where I was around other male cousins, an aunt, and an uncle who treated me as their own. I was grateful for the few who saw me as family.
Again, from my experience the family needs to do better. Let not another member slip through the cracks of family. Our family is too dang big not to make a huge impact upon the world, starting with family.

Darnell was not just our nephew but a son also he was raised with our five sons him and his brother, I could just hear him say Aunt Deney… i’m just calling to see how you doing and I will say I’m doing good Darnell how are you? What are you up to? Just working he would say. he’s always had this sad look in his eyes as if he’s afraid to say the wrong thing. Aunt Deney did you cook? Yes Darnell I cooked he was a can you bring me a plate? I’m coming over. Tell uncle Bobby to come and get me OK Darnell and we will do just that we will get him. He will come take pictures of the food and enjoy his time with us and it as well. We enjoy his company. He was never a burden. He loved his mother and his heart was very big towards his family. I know he wished he could’ve did more for his sister, his mother as well as his brother, even though he didn’t have much at all , when I last spoke to Darnell, he knew something wasn’t right. He said that’s why I called the ambulance; Aunt Deney I’ve never felt this before! And when I seen his face it was very clear and bright only if I had known that was the last time I would talk to my nephew. Darnell is resting right now. And may the MostHigh God have mercy on whom he will have mercy.
