Fairburn Southern Funerals & Cremations
Darrell Andre Giddens was born on August 29, 1970, to Andrew and Mary Giddens. Darrell grew up in Atlanta, Georgia in the Westside neighborhood where he graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, class of 1989. He departed this life on July 18, 2023.
Darrell was a very free-spirited person, who loved to be outside seeing and enjoying what the world had to offer him. To know Darrell was to know the joy of being free, he lived his life the way he wanted and didn’t care if anyone thought differently. Darrel’s free and wild spirit led him to a career in truck driving where he could do what he enjoyed most, traveling the world and seeing what it had to offer him. Darrell was an avid sports fan; you could always find him rooting for his hometown Atlanta teams. Darrell was a kindred spirit who loved meeting new people, and most of all spending time with his family, whom he was always willing to throw some meat on the grill for.
Darrell is preceded in eternal rest by his late father Andrew Giddens. In the wake of such profound loss, let us remember Darrell, a beacon of love and friendship. His thoughtfulness was his compass, guiding his acts of selfless courage. We were blessed to share countless memorable moments with him. Although our hearts weigh heavy with grief, we take solace in knowing that he resides peacefully beyond the veil. This isn’t farewell, dear friend! It’s merely ‘see you later’. The spirit of Darrell will continue to inspire us forever!
You’re the most generous person I know. Your soul is in heaven and someone Somewhere has your organs. This only show how special and unselfish you are. I love you cuz ❤️.
I will never forget you, nor the bond that we shared, our road trips, the love we shared, the smiles, and songs, and you sharing your family with me that welcome me with open arms. I will forever love you, down to the very last conversation we had, maybe two weeks before your passing. I am glad that God allowed that final opportunity to be, continue to R.I.P my love. KIA
