Darrell Pearson Dodd

December 29, 1945 ~ December 10, 2021

Darrell P. Dodd, 75, passed away peacefully at his home in Dallas, GA on December 10, 2021. He is survived by Gayle Dodd of Dallas, GA; his children Kenneth Dodd of Dallas, GA, Janet Dodd of Cartersville, GA, and Bryan Dodd of El Paso, Texas, as well as his two granddaughters, Anabelle Dodd of Dallas, GA and Aleena Shaikh of Cartersville, GA Darrell was born on December 29, 1945, in Atlanta, GA to parents William (Bill) Dodd and Darlene Dodd. Darrell spent his childhood living in the Atlanta area. Darrell married Gayle in June 1970 in Marietta, GA. Throughout the years, Darrell and Gayle had three children – Kenneth, Janet, and Bryan. Darrell spent much of his life working for Atlantic Steel Company based out of Atlanta, GA from which he retired in the late 1980s. Darrell was a very involved father who spent much of his time involved in the lives of his family. Darrell enjoyed traveling and the outdoors, to include hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening. Darrell also loved spending his free time with his family. His family and friends will always remember him as a simple, hard-working, and loving person. A funeral is scheduled for Darrell on December 16, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. with a reception to follow at Azilee “Sue” Powell’s home located in Hiram, GA. Father Clemente Mario will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Darrell’s life. The family would like to thank all attendees for taking the time to attend Darrell’s service.
