DeJan H. Ridge

Mrs. DeJan “Jan” Ridge passed away suddenly at 12:31 am on July 13, 2024. She went to be with the Lord at the age of 70. She was born in Atlanta, GA on January 4, 1954. Jan is predeceased by her parents, Motes and Betty Hickman, and brother, Steve Hickman. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Sheree Cook & Amy Ridge; son-in-law, Stafford Cook; grandchildren, Aliyah Bruell, Elijah Cook and Reggie Bruell; great-grandchild, Ky’Son Bruell; brother, Glen Hickman; sister-in-law, Judy Hickman; and several nieces and nephews. As a child, Jan often traveled with her family. She spoke fondly of the experiences and memories made on their adventures. In her early twenties she married her best friend, Wayne. They shared two beautiful daughters, Sheree & Amy. Their marriage ended, but they remained best friends throughout their lives. In her later years she found love with her partner, Tony, until his passing. As a young adult she furthered her education at Kennesaw State University & obtained certification in stocks & bonds trading. Jan enjoyed playing sports, dancing, music, spending time with friends, laughing and making others laugh. More than anything, she loved her family. Jan had a deep and unconditional love for her daughters, grandchildren & great grandchild. Being a mother & nana is what she lived for. Jan was beautiful inside and out. Celebration of Life will be held at Southern Cremations & Funerals, 1861 Dallas Highway SW, Marietta, GA 30064 on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 2:30 PM.
