I am writing this heartfelt love letter to my beloved husband, Demetrius Johns. My heart is filled with love, gratitude, and respect for such a wonderful man. He was someone who loved deeply and had a genuine affection for his children, sisters, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and the entire extended family. He never met a stranger, and his towering, gentle giant presence made everyone feel his kindness and warm spirit. He was a light, brightening the lives of those who took the time to know him. He had a passion for dressing well, cars, and the beauty of nature. You will be missed dearly, but God has great plans for you in heaven. I will miss you forever.
Your stories, laughter, and just plain ole fun. The North 27th street memories will never be forgotten. Take your rest D. Wishing you a merciful, peaceful journey. ” Yall my sistaz”- Darya❤️💔🙏🏾
Demetrius,
Nef received the phone call you put in place if something was to ever happen to you. While it broke our hearts to get the call, I want you to know it meant the world to her to know that her big brother knew he could count on her. Brother she had your back and put you away with Dignity and Respect. All your child hood friends showed up for you and shared some memories that made us cry and laugh at the same time. The love was felt and your life mattered.

Hey Uncle,
Im writing this in the parking lot at work today. As I got dressed today for work, I finally was able to reflect on what I wanted to say to you. Everyone gave you your flowers this weekend. They showed out for you, and we put you to rest with the flyest suit as it was only fitting for a king. It was evident you made an impact everywhere you went & it will never go unnoticed. We cried , we prayed, and we danced with you one last time. Your repass was just as beautiful as we sent water lilies off in remembrance of you. I hope we made you proud. Its never goodbye, but rather, see you later. Tell Ma, grandpops, grandma Equilla, grandma Gladys, and everyone else that we say hi & we all love you from down here.
with love always,
your lovey🥹
