Dominik Kevoni Cayo

On March 21st, 2023, at Piedmont Hospital, Dominik Kevoni Cayo had made his way into this world at 28 weeks and 1 day. On that day, we have experienced the greatest joy- our gift from God. We embarked on a journey with Dominik’s health complications that could be described as an Emotional Roller Coaster. Throughout that journey, we held close each other and with unshakable conviction that we are in this with our baby boy all the way through. We were moved from one hospital to another until we got to Scottish Rite Hospital. We were comforted as we got to experience his personality, share precious moment when we held him for the first time, his piercing eye contact, his love for music and watching him playing with his toys- our way of keeping his bright mind occupied. Dominik’s spirit and energy are so pure, with his epic side-eye, we could easily tell who was not his favorite nurse by the way he looks at them. He loved getting attention- specifically from his favorite nurses. One in particular who spoke Spanish to him. We admired his intelligence and how connecting he was. As the social darling he was, he’d look into your eyes as he’s been held for cuddle time. Dominik would give us clear sign for his nap time or bedtime. He’d intertwine his beautiful fingers over his chest, and we’d hold his pacifier in his mouth to help him sleep. Dominik Kevoni Cayo is our Fruit of LoveWe are grateful to God for that Gift- the privilege to have met and felt his Spirit. His spirit is and will always be a part of us.
