Donald Lee Varner entered God’s kingdom due to ongoing health issues on November 2, 2025, after 65 years on earth.
Don was a New Year’s baby, born on January 1, 1960 to Ernie and Connie Varner at Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland. Don started his entrepreneurial journey early on selling Big Buddy bubble gum to fellow students out of an overcoat like a street vendor on a New York City sidewalk. He later graduated from Vanguard High School, in Ocala, Florida in 1977, after which he founded Snappy Snipper, and later became owner of Kendrick Grocery. Following that he moved to Jonesboro, Georgia to be close to the big opportunities around Atlanta, and subsequently built his dream home in McDonough, Georgia. His professional achievements culminated in the formation and operation of the companies Billboard Connection, Voxford, Outdoor Works, and Outdoor Impact. In 2003 he married the love of his life Linabeth Velasquez and went on to have two lovely daughters, Danelle Lyn and Jillian Rose.
In addition to his entrepreneurial spirit, Don had a very giving heart. After meeting his wife Linabeth, he built her family a modern home in the Philippines, and frequently contributed to those in need. He also had a deep love for nature, especially the animals in and around his home to include the chipmunks he enjoyed supplying with peanuts outside his kitchen window, but his beloved dogs Cody and Mia stole his heart.
Don was predeceased by his father, Ernie Varner. He is survived by his mother, Connie Varner, his wife Linabeth Varner, his sister Sheryl Litteral and her husband Terry Litteral, his sister Holly Frame and her husband Bryan Frame, and his daughters, Danelle Lyn Varner and Jillian Rose Varner.
