Ellis Ray Campbell

Ellis Ray Campbell, 81 of Temple, Georgia passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, November 28th, 2022, Mr. Campbell was born on August 28th, 1941, in Dalton Georgia, the son of the late Gilbert Campbell and Nellie May Campbell. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Hazel Campbell and son David Spinks. He leaves behind to cherish his memory wife Claudia Campbell of 45 years; sons, Kenneth Campbell of Winchester, Tennessee; Tim Campbell of Chatsworth, Georgia; Richard and Tonya Spinks of Whitesburg Georgia; daughter-n-law, Luanne Spinks of Ohatchee, Alabama; brothers, Pat Campbell of Tullahoma, Tennessee; Fred and Helga Campbell of Ashland City, Tennessee; Raymond and Mildred Campbell Ephesus, Georgia; sister, Linda Campbell of Huntsville, Alabama; sister-in-love, Harriett Leffel of Douglasville, Georgia; grandchildren, TJ Campbell, Richard Jr. and Curtis Spinks, Jessica Duke, Tiffany Wade; 7 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was a member of Westview Baptist Church for 26 years serving as a deacon and teaching Sunday School.Ray enjoyed spending time with his family, serving his church and working in his yard. Ray was also a professional Truck Driver for 37 years. The family would like to give a special thank you to the Fresenius Medical Care of Bremen, Georgia, West Georgia Caregivers, Sacred Journey Hospice and Harriett Leffel for their love, support and care they provided for our loved one. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to American Kidney Fund www.kidneyfund.com In keeping with Mr. Rays wishes, his body will be cremated and there are no services to be held.

  1. I remember Ray playing whiffle ball with us in his back yard, in the mid 1980’s. He was always a good sport and if I remember correctly, had a mean curve ball. My sincere condolences to Richard and family.
