Essie Lee Flowers was born on March 13, 1957, in Atlanta, GA to Lilla and F.T Flowers. Our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend transitioned on December 10, 2025. She lived a life rooted in faith, family and love.
An Atlanta native, she was educated at Booker T. Washington High School. She was one of 7 children and is preceded by her brothers J.C and Bobby Zeigler. She dedicated 29 years of faithful service to Emory Healthcare, where her strong work ethic, professionalism and caring spirit touched countless colleagues and patients alike. In July 2023, she retired, closing a meaningful chapter marked by commitment and excellence.
Above all, she was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. Essie will be remembered for her kind heart, her unwavering faith, and the joy she brought to everyone who knew her. Family was the center of her world. As a devoted mother of three, she poured her heart into nurturing, guiding, and supporting her children with unconditional love. She also shared a close and loving bond with her three living sisters, and brother and held dear the memories of her two brothers who preceded her in death.
She will be remembered for her gentle strength, kind heart, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. Her presence brought comfort, her words brought encouragement, and her love brought peace. Though her physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the lives she touched and the family she so deeply cherished.
Those left to cherish her loving memories are her children, Zubada ( Dataniel "Doc") Flowers, Brian Alexander, and Candrea Harris, sisters, Hester Ann" Ann" (Andrew) Thomas, Lilla Jean " Jean" (Merriett Taylor, preceded) Clark, Audrey Lou" Lulu" (Harold) Flowers, brother, Franklin " Flubby " Flowers, grandchildren, Damecia " Bickey ", Deja, Deidra " Toolie " , Natalynn " Nat " , Brian Jr. " Boogie " , Tyler, Jordan, My'riah, Levi, Darius, Donteria, " Teri ", Dataniel Jr. " Jerrell" Jeremy "Twiggy" ), and a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, relatives and friends. She will forever remain in our hearts.








Essie was such an amazing woman! We always loved listening to Motown classics during our car rides together. She will be missed
