McDonough Southern Cremations & Funerals
Evelena Yvonne White
May 8, 1954 - March 15, 2022
The book of life for Evelena “Lena” White opened on May 8, 1954, in Tennille, Georgia to Ernest and Annie Thornton.
She received her early education in Miami Dade County’s Public School System. Graduating from Miami Northwestern Senior High School.
Lena worked many years as a bookkeeper before making the decision to become a homemaker and caregiver.
Lena lived her life to the fullest with no limits and no regrets. Her smiled will forever gleam as bright as the brightest star. Lena was tough, but also compassionate. Driven, but also fun and funny. She was feisty, funny, and independent. A bright star who cared deeply for her family. Lena did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. Add that to her three children, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, who are the pride and joy of Lena’s life. Her zest for life will live on through them.
On, Tuesday, March 15, 2022. The Lord called Evelena Yvonne White home to rest.
She will sadly be missed by her sons; Johnny Patterson, Jr., Chester Webb Jr. (Crystal), and Jeremiah White; her sisters: Ernestine Rolle (Dan), Kimberly Thornton, and Elizabeth Thornton; brother: Jean Thornton; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
