Frederick George Storar II, 49, of Acworth, died peacefully on August 16, 2023. He was surrounded by his loving family who remained with him throughout his sudden but critical illness.
Fred was a sound engineer, mixer and producer in Georgia's film industry, a career he enthusiastically embraced. He was recently nominated for his first Emmy for his work on Stranger Things. He also enjoyed his time on the sets of The Walking Dead, The Takeover, Guardians of the Galaxy III, Abiding, and many others.
Born in Dayton, Ohio, September 11, 1973, Fred was a 1992 honors graduate of Heritage High School in Conyers, Georgia, where he played varsity football. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout during his high school years. Fred earned a Bachelor's degree in business from the University of Maryland and studied movie production at Southern Crescent Technical College. He participated in numerous technical trainings related to his movie production work.
Fred loved sports and the outdoors. He camped, hiked and was an avid flower gardener. Music has always been a high priority for Fred. He attended concerts as often as possible and once traveled with a band on tour in his earlier years. Fred loved animals, especially their cats.
Above all, Fred was a loving husband, father, son and brother. He is survived by his wife, Kristen Storar; son, Austin Palmer; parents, Fred and Linda Storar; and brother, Kevin Storar (wife, Crystal Storar). He is also survived by his in-laws, Valerie and Roy Robinson and Stan and Gail Cooper; brother-in-law, Kevin Cooper (daughter, Coral Cooper); and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Celebration of Fred's life will be conducted in the columbarium of Southern Cremations and Funerals at Cheatham Hill on Friday, August 25, 2023 at twelve o'clock noon.
The family will receive friends at the columbarium of Southern Cremations and Funerals at Cheatham Hill on Friday, August 25, 2023 from 10 o'clock in the morning until the service hour.
Southern Cremations and Funerals at Cheatham Hill is honored to serve the Storar family in this most difficult of times.
