Gail Thomas-Lockman

September 21, 1956 ~ June 21, 2023

Gail Rochelle Thomas-Lockman was born September 21, 1956 in Springfield, Massachusetts to Claudia and John W. Thomas. She transitioned on June 21, 2023 in the comfort of her home with both of her sons by her side after a difficult fight with cancer. Gail is survived by her mother: Claudia Thomas; siblings: Roland, Van, Aaron, Kim, Marc; (2) sons; Sean & Jahmal; (4) grandchildren: Kai, Kameron, Jake, (2) great-grandchildren: Kadence & Kyson, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones whom she held in high regard. She is predeceased by her father John W. Thomas & siblings, Andre, Terri, John F. Sr., Brian A., and JT Michael Thomas. Gail graduated from Commerce High School in Springfield Mass before moving to Atlanta to attend the Atlanta Art Institute in the 1970’s. Her secondary education fostered her love of the arts which included modeling, designing her own clothes, and many many make-overs which helped her practice her photogenic smile which was always on display well before any cameras or photo opportunities presented themselves. She also loved art, culture, dance & had great taste for music. Dating back to the 1980’s Gail was a dedicated employee of the State of Georgia, though she continued to find time to dedicate to numerous hobbies and interests including modeling, being a mentor and life-coach, serving as a consultant for her favorite natural beauty and personal care products (Warm Spirits & Soul Purpose), organizing family functions to celebrate life with her loved ones (near and far), traveling and creating meaningful memories and being an integral pillar of strength and resilience for her family, friends and loved ones. Gail’s memory and legacy will live on through & beyond those that hold her near and dear to their hearts.
