Sanders (Peggy)Kevin Sanders (Heather)Cheri SandersJames Michael SandersChris (Charlotte) Gerald was born in Birmingham, Alabama but grew up in Panama City, Florida. He returned to Panama City earlier this year, which for him felt like coming home. He was excited to become reacquainted with his childhood friends and make new friends, which he did almost daily in his many walks around St. Andrews Bay. He was a graduate of Woodlawn High School in Birmingham, Alabama in 1958 and maintained a blog that connected that group for over 20 years. He hosted a twice a year gathering in PC for those high school cronies over the last few years. In his lifelong sales career, he represented City Paper Co in Birmingham; Coty/Pfizer and owner of Gerald Sanders and Associates. After his retirement, he spent several enjoyable years as a courier for the Marietta Daily Journal. He was most proud of his children and grandchildren’s many accomplishments. He had recently joined St. Andrews Baptist Church where he had attended since returning to PC. In addition, Gerald was a proud veteran, having served in the Army during the years of the Viet Nam war. Gerald was an influencer before there was that category. He was the biggest promoter of his children and grandchildren. He also promoted the products he sold and believed in. He was KSU’s #1 fan and told everyone he met about them. He was the “self appointed” mayor of Owltown and proudly responded to the nickname GerOwl. His family and friends will miss his positive outlook and contagious joy that he spread everywhere he went. The memories of our beloved Gerald will live on in all of us.
