  2. Gertrude Carolina Shaws living 100 years and having a beautiful life passed away May 7th at her home in Gay, Georgia. She was born Trudy Carolina Schowe to Elsie and Edward Schowe in Berger, Missouri. She lived her early years on her dad’s farm. Later, she moved to St. Louis where she met and married Stan Shaws. Moving around as a military spouse, she managed to raise a family before retiring to Newnan, Georgia. During this time, Trudy and Stan spent summers fishing, boating, and relaxing with their Minnesota family at their Minnesota cottage.

    In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a brother Rudy (Beverly) & daughter (Emily). Also, she is preceded in death by her sister Dorthy (Walter Willimann), a niece Joyce Hauser (Joe), and 2 nephews: Gene Willimann (Anne), and Walt Willimann (Doris – Ann).

    Mrs. Shaws is survived by a daughter, Cindy A. Shaws, and a son Steve (Kathy). She is survived by Fern Wray (Kenny), Fay Scheible (Larry), and Ronnie Willimann (Mert).

    A Life Celebration will be held June 11th at 4:00 pm in Gay, Georgia. This casual celebration will take place at Mount Zion Baptist Church – 5971 Mount Carmel Road, Gay, Georgia 30218.

  3. So sorry for the loss of this sweet, special lady. I have many great memories that include lots of special shopping trips with Trudy and Cindy and my mom and me. We had so much fun and spent a lot of time laughing. Trudy had a beautiful smile!

  4. In heartfelt remembrance of the ever kind-hearted Gertrude, whose warmth, friendliness, and generosity never ceased to touch lives. Memories of her visit with Stan in Austria and our cherished moments spent together in America will forever be engraved in our hearts. May her soul rest in eternal peace as she continues to live on through the love and kindness she shared during her time on this earth. Trudy we‘ll miss you so much!
