It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of my beloved, sweet mother, Gladys Hilda Hall Moore. At the age of 97, she went peacefully to be with the Lord on the morning of Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
Hilda was born June 29, 1928, in Moultrie Ga. to the late Fred Ivy Hall, Sr and Stella Lee Cook Hall. She went to Moultrie High School where she graduated and got married at the age of 17 to Willard Owen Moore. Hilda worked at the telephone company where she was a telephone operator before moving to Smyrna, GA, where she resided for over 50 years. She was always friendly to everyone she met and could light up a room with her laugh and smile whether on the phone or in person. Hilda was a true Southern woman and could make a pound cake like no other, not to mention her cornbread and fried chicken! She loved to read and could finish a book in a day, but her true passion was her family. Hilda was a kind, caring, loving devoted mother, Mimi and sister and her best days were spent with them. She would be so happy when visitors would come to visit, and her excitement would brighten anyone's day. She would wait for her daughter, Laura, to go for rides and look at beautiful flowers. Special days would end with a margarita. She will be missed by all who ever had the grace of meeting her. Her memories will live forever in our hearts.
Hilda is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Willard Owen Moore, her son, Jerry Michael Moore and her brother Fred Ivy Hall, Jr.
Hilda is survived by her daughter Laura Moore Fuerst and son-in-law Joseph E. Fuerst, Jr. of Denton, Texas, and her daughter-in-law Kay Moore of Pocatello, Idaho. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Marlene Dickson and John Dickson of Smyrna, GA. and her sister-in-law Polly Hall of Columbia, SC. Hilda was blessed to have 7 grandchildren - Beth, Lauren, Joey, Mattie, Jake, Lanie, and Trey and 8 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held on September 1 2, 2025 at 2 pm at the Cheatham Hill Memorial Park, which is now a part of Southern Cremation & Funerals on Dallas Hwy in Marietta, GA.

We are sending you all so much love and many prayers during this difficult time.
Aunt Hilda and her grace will be forever remembered. We send our condolences to Laura and the entire family. Love, Kathy, Travis, Todd and families
