Gladys Feliberti Medina passed away peacefully at home on June 11, 2025.
Gladys was born on March 30, 1936 in Yauco, Puerto Rico to Angela Ramos. She, her mother and brothers moved from “la isla del encanto” to Brooklyn, NY where she graduated from Clara Barton High School, fully bilingual and ready for her new life in the Big Apple.
Gladys will always be remembered for her generous hospitality, humor and sassy spunk. Her home had an open door where you always found love, music, family, friends and her delicious, fresh, home cooked delicacies of every kind. Unexpected guests were always welcome and Gladys would whip up a delicious meal in record time. She had a heart of gold, sharing what she had with others. Everyone felt like family at Gladys and Tony’s.
Despite all of Gladys’ classic baby jokes, there was not a child she didn’t love and who didn’t love her back. Her love of children made her childlike, mischievous and funny. Her children, their friends, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren all looked forward to time with Gladys. She hosted many parties for her children and their friends, partly because she loved music and dancing but mostly because she wanted them all to have fun in a safe space.
Gladys is predeceased by her husband Jose Antonio Medina who she married in 1961. She is also predeceased by her eldest son, Felix (Papito). Gladys will be lovingly remembered by her three remaining children, Edwin (Tito), Ray Anthony and Valerie, and their spouses, Norma, Magda and Juan. She was the best “Wita” and “Mama” to eight grandchildren, Monica, Tiffany, Melissa, Jaselle, Eric, Aaron, Alexandra, and Jonathan, and four great grandchildren, Robert (Bo), Jeremy, Lucas, and Emilia.

With love and fond memories.
Nuestra querida Gladys Medina.
Apreciada Gladys: Siempre recordare tu sonrisa y tu cario.
Valerie you have my deepest condolences! May this gift live on in memory of your dear mother.
Our family has lost a Matriarch, the eldest female Ramos Cousin, but Heaven has gained an Angel with the cutest dimples! A kind and gorgeous woman inside and out, Gladys leaves a beautiful legacy of unwavering love, kindness and grace. Until we meet again in God’s Heavenly Kingdom, may you rest in eternal peace.
My Love Always,
Terry Rodriguez (Ramos)
I love you so much. Cant wait to laugh it up with you again in paradise.
We are so sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you go through this difficult time.
