In Memory of Iris Robnett JacksonSunrise: October 3rd, 1933, in Amelia, VASunset: June 28th, 2024, in Kennesaw, GA Obituary Iris Robnett Jackson, aged 90, passed away peacefully at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, GA. She was born in Ameila, Virginia to Mahila and Alsten Winfree on October 3rd, 1933. She was the eldest of five (5) children, Samuel Winfree, Elsa Marie Winfree, Joellyn Amos, and Rodney Winfree. Iris was preceded in death by her brother Samuel, her sister Elsa, and her husband Ellis Jackson.Iris was a graduate of Russel Grove High School in 1950 and shortly after she finished school she moved to New York where she met her late husband Ellis Jackson of South Carolina. The two were married on October 27th, 1957, and from there they reared five (5) children, Kevelin Winfree, Alonzo Jackson, Ellis G. Jackson, Sandra Jackson, and Lee Jackson.In lieu of a professional career, Iris devoted herself to her family. Her responsibilities as a mother and caregiver superseded all other desires and she was committed to ensuring that her family was well taken care of. It is a difficult time for us now mourning the loss of our matriarch, however the love that Iris Jackson displayed during her life will be enough to cover us in comfort for generations.In addition to her siblings, and her children, Iris is survived by her grandchildren Saraya Jackson, Tara Thomas, Gerod Jackson, Mikel Dambreville, Elisha Jackson, Alix Saab, Kyle Jackson, Morgan Brown, and Jordan Jackson. Iris will be missed by her brother-in-law, Stinson Jackson, her sisters-in-law, Elizabeth and Lois Jackson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends near and far including her “BFF” Marion Boyland.

All the new and different things I had to learn and do set the ground for my joyous life and you were a proud part of it.
