Fairburn Southern Cremations & Funerals
Ishma Scott, a beloved partner, sister, aunt, and cousin, passed away June 12, 2023. She was born on April 17, 1979, to Vandora Thomas and Melvin E. Scott. Ishma was a graduate of North Clayton Elementary School, Solid Rock Academy, North Clayton Middle and North Clayton High School. In 2020, she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Walden University, which she hoped to use to help those around her.
Ishma was a well-known guru and a friend to many. She had a dynamic personality that brought people together. She was an ear to many, offering support during difficult times. She was known for her musical talents and was considered a "lyrical genius" by many. She was a source of undeniable laughter, with a kind and generous heart. Ishma opened her home to provide shelter and a safe place to stay.
Ishma is survived by her wife, Sharita Cooke, her siblings: Bridget Scott, Brianna Scott, Yahshe Scott, Melvin Scott, and Michael Scott; her nieces and nephews: Jadyn Scott, Bria Evans, Cameron Moore, Tyler Scott, Terrance Scott, Taegan Houston, and Tae’mar Houston, an uncle, Allen Scott, and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her "Beloved" grandmother, Vera M. Thomas.
The family would like all to remember Ishma in good spirits and in good times. Remember the cook outs she held, the advice she gave, the laughter that she brought, and the prayers she prayed for you. Ishma's passing has left a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her memory will live on forever. Rest in peace, Ishma.
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning!
