McDonough Southern Cremations & Funerals
Mr. James Carlton (Carlos) Oliver entered into rest on Sunday, March 5, 2023. A celebration of life memorial will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Eastlawn Memorial at 640 McGarity Road McDonough, Ga.
Mr. Carlton Oliver is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jan Oliver, and their children, Krystal Oliver Nestlehutt (Raymond) and Philip Oliver; six sisters Ann O Shaw (Eddie), Sue Oliver, Peggy O. Brant (Tommy), Kay O Donaldson (Mike), Rhonda O Jones (Ryan) & Christy O. Blackburn; two brothers, Ricky Oliver (Barbara), Bruce Oliver (Carolyn); six grandchildren (Macie (Alex), Kalie, Jackson, Ray, Lillie and Alex and numerous extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents E.C. “Spot” and Roberta “Bobbie” Oliver and beloved nieces and nephews, Amy, Tess, Shaun and Braxton.
Carlton, as he was affectionately known, was born and raised in Metter, Ga. However, he has lived in the Atlanta area for the past 40 years. Prior to retirement, he was an exceptional and hardworking machine operator at The Curb Company. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and fishing. But his greatest joy was his beloved family, especially his children and grandchildren. He was affectionately known by his grandchildren as Papa. This was always his proudest title and he loved wearing anything that had “papa” on it. He was the absolute best Husband, Daddy and Papa! His gentle, generous nature will be missed sorely by all that knew him.

Sending my condolences to the family. I always loved talking with Carlos when I would come to the job sites with my dad. One memory I have of him was a time when he pulled a candy bar out of a cooler to share with me. He was always so kind & was like family to us. We appreciate his years of service to The Curb Company and he will be missed.
