Predeceased by son, James Kadian, siblings Kathleen Wahl and Dennis Kadian and their spouses.
Jim was born and raised in Bushwick, Brooklyn. He attended St. Martin of Tours School, Brooklyn and LaSalle High School in NYC. After serving in the army during the Korean War, Jim returned to college at St. John’s University where he earned his bachelor’s degree. Early in his career he worked at JCPenney corporate headquarters and in retirement years he worked at a local JCPenney store in Georgia. Jim was an avid dedicated sports fan who followed his teams, NY Yankees, NY Giants, NY Rangers, NY Knickerbockers AKA Knicks, in the good years and in the bad. Jim raised his family on Long Island, New York. As a dad he coached and attended his daughters’ and sons’ soccer games and sons’ lacrosse games. Most importantly, he shared with his children the love of the beach, picnics, and art of enjoying the moment. When Jim went grocery shopping, his children always knew there would be a family treat after bath time. He genuinely was happy to be together whether it was over a meal, hanging out on a park bench, or randomly meeting an acquaintance. Jim prided himself on remembering names and faces which served him well as a career salesman.
Jim was a devout Catholic, who attended Sunday mass and weekday mass when possible. When he was younger, he would attend monthly adoration and yearly retreats. One of his favorite moments was when he had a visitation with Mother Theresa of Calcutta.
