Joanna passed away peacefully on August 7, 2021. She is survived by her sisters, Helen and Christine, sister-in-law, Sarah, niece, nephews, and grandnieces and nephews.

Missing my middle sister, Joanna. We didn’t always agree on everything, but she was always there for me, listening and lending a sympathetic ear to my ready complaints. Ever the optimist, she balanced my more pragmatic nature. Joanna was generous, thoughtful and stubborn, a family trait. She took exceptional, loving care of our mother in her declining years. Joanna put her whole heart into everything she did. She loved the many pets she had over the years and considered them her children. Who will laugh with me now as we trade silly secret thoughts? I was shocked when I heard of Joanna’s passing. We occasionally traded e-mails and called each other. Joanna was always upbeat and compassionate. During a recent conversation she never mentioned her suffering, just that she would pray for me and my family. Joanna you will be missed, may you rest in peace! Love, your cousin, Darryl.
Joanna and I have been friends since age 13 even before high school. I shall miss her phone calls and our occasional visits between New York and Georgia. You were an influential part of my life. I love you Joan. Alice Noone Moroney
Joanna’s faith stood till the end, as she fully understood what was next. What a testament to those of us who are to follow in her steps. So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. 2 Cor 5:6-8
