Marietta Southern Funerals & Cremations
John "David" Pace passed away suddenly on May 23, 2024, at the age of 60.
David was highly active throughout his entire life, from childhood sports to yoga with DDP. He was passionate about experiencing God’s creation to the best of his ability. As an Air Force veteran, he was very proud to have served his country.
David loved music, especially the “King” Elvis Presley. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to share things he found humorous, often quoting lines from his favorite movies, such as Nacho Libre!
His dedication to his work for the Archdiocese of Atlanta brought him great joy, knowing that he was serving the Lord with his great talent.
With his willful, positive attitude, sheer will power, and unwavering patience, he handled all life challenges well……you wanted him on your team --- and there are many teams out there who will feel his absence.
And lastly, family and friends were everything to him. He found the love of his life in Julia and instantly became a father to his 3-step children whom he was so proud of and loved dearly.
He became a proud Papa himself to Olivia and he was never the same. He adored her in every sense of the word.
His departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound, and it is gravely felt by his entire family and countless others who loved him deeply in his wide network of community.
David is survived by his wife, Julia; children, Tanya, Kevin, Andrew, and Olivia; and siblings, Kimbrough (Alicia) Pace and Debbie Pace.

How do you pick just one memory when there are so many!!! David was my brother from another mother. We were both each other’s best man at our weddings, we both went in to the military at the same time. David was such a good and bad influence on me as well as I was on him. One memory I love to talk about was really about both families when we all went to Disney in 1 station wagon. 5 Pace’s and 5 Smith’s. Literally 8 kids and 2 moms. That was so much fun staying at coco beach as kids.
David my life will never be the same without you in it!! I love you my friend! I miss you so much already
Our love and prayers are with the entire family, David will remain in our hearts forever.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
David never failed to make me feel like a special part of the family, and I will cherish those memories dearly. You are heavily missed and loved.
David had a strong faith and commitment to his work. Prayers for family at this challenging time but know he is with the Lord …

I have known David since he was a child and he has always been that sweet, kind and caring person that you have known as an adult. He loved life, which makes his death even sadder for his friends and family. So happy to have known such an exceptional man!
Dear David, my heart is heavy! I know that you are in a better place. It was a pleasure knowing you these past 25 years. I will say a prayer for the repose of your soul. May you rest in peace and rise to eternal life 🙏🏿!

David was one of those people who stuck out to me and was usually smiling when I saw him. One of the nicest people I have known. I will always remember him as being one of those people who would brighten up the room. He will most definitely be missed. I went to some Braves games with him as well as my dad and brother-in-law and it was always a great time hanging out with him. My condolences to Julia and the rest of their family. – Kyle Underwood
I am at a loss for words and then i realized that there aren’t any that can do justice to what David was to me. We met in 1971 as 8 year old boys playing football for the Blackwell Bears. That meeting blossomed into 53 years of friendship and brotherhood. We experienced our youth, teens, young adult, and senior years together which included all the ups, down, argument’s, falling outs, reuniting, joy, and so much more. The Pace and Nix families have been bound together since that hot August day in 1971 at our first football practice. My sister married his youngest brother Kim which solidified our 2 families forever. We were rivals on the practice gridiron, he being on offensive line and myself a free safety. His parents were my parents and mine were his. I am blessed i was able to visit him in Piedmont Hospital after his heart surgery. he was so upbeat and his final words to me personally were “i miss you bro” I feel so lost knowing he’s no longer here but I find comfort knowing i will see him again one day. I could go on and on with many more stories that i will hold and cherish in my heart. God Bless you “Uncle Cool” , Dave, JD Pace. I will miss you dearly.

Have had a t shirt design idea for years and was looking up to find my old friend, David Pace. I paid My way thru UGA selling t-shirts door to door and to the tailgaters…the shirts always sold because David was a master when it came to his artwork! There was no topping his creative design. So saddened to learn of his passing. Even way back then, David always had a kind heart. We just lost a DGD! Condolences to the family on the loss of such a wonderful man!
