John Lee Stanley III age 73, of Fayetteville, Georgia passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday April 5, 2022. Lee was a wonderful man, always willing to help out anyone to the best of his ability. He was a man of God, always trying to do the right thing. Lee was a member of a Masonic Lodge and an Elder, Deacon, and Lifetime member of the First Christian Church of Decatur, Disciples of Christ. He enjoyed music, cooking, bowling, baseball, and golfing.
Lee was a graduate of Avondale High School, Georgia State University, and Atlanta Law School where he obtained a law degree and subsequently practiced law specializing in Real Estate for almost 50 years. After his first marriage in which he conceived his first daughter, Kimberly Marie Stanley, he married the love of his life Carolyn McQuaig Stanley, with whom he had his second child Christy Stanley Tempo.
Lee was predeceased by his loving wife Carolyn, his parents John Lee Jr. and Martha Ann Stanley.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughters Kimberly and Christy; stepdaughter Judy Worley; brothers Randolph Bartow Stanley and Scott Burgess Stanley; grandchildren Melissa, Jessica, Jacob, Naomi, and Rachel; great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at the First Christian Church of Decatur, Disciples of Christ on a date yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Lee’s honor to the American Lung association. www.action.lung.org
