John Robert (Bob) Surrency III passed away at home peacefully on September 23, 2024, at the age of 86. Bob was born on October 2, 1937, in Memphis, Tennessee to John Robert Surrency II and Clara Austin Surrency.
Bob met the love of his life and wife of 65 years, Relda, in 1959 while he was attending Georgia Tech and she was attending the Georgia Baptist School of Nursing. Bob went on to earn his BBA and MS degrees from Georgia State University. Bob and Relda resided in Marietta, GA and were members of John Knox Presbyterian Church where Bob served for many years as a church deacon and elder, and in later years attended East Cobb Baptist Church. Bob proudly spent most of his 45+ year professional career working for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Marietta, GA. Some highlights of his career were serving as the President of the Lockheed Management Club and receiving multiple personal and team awards from the Office of the Secretary of Defense including the David Packard Excellence in Acquisition Award presented at the Pentagon. Bob also proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves.
Survived by wife Relda; sister Christina; sons Bob and Jim; daughters-in-law Shannon and Heather; grandchildren Conner, Lindsey, Maya, and Cole; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services for family and friends are under the direction of Cheatham Hill Memorial Park, 1861 Dallas Hwy SW, Marietta, GA 30064, October 12th at 11:00AM.








Bob was a long term co-worker, friend, business travel associate, fellow officer of our
Lockheed Management Association for numerous years. We became close family traveling & social companions. He will be fondly remembered and missed !
