Joyce Ann Grizzard, age 77, of McDonough, Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025. She was born on May 21, 1948, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to Lafayette Ira Hope III and Marie Hydas Cornett. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Steve Grizzard; her son, Joshua Grizzard (Kealey); her daughters, Belinda Crowson Fleming and Rhonda Crowson Johnson; her brothers, JR Hope and Bruce Hope; and her sister, Carolyn Baggett (Ricky). She was the proud grandmother of Sharon Dobbins, Ashley Wright, Amberly Vaughn (Dakota), Colby Pierce (Taylor), Abigail Pierce Gorter (Jon), Amelia Pierce, Zadie Fleming, and Hap Allen Fleming. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Brayden Dobbins, Hunter Wright, and Jack Pierce, each of whom brought her immense joy. For many years, Joyce served as a cosmetology instructor at Arnold Padrick’s University of Cosmetology in Forest Park, Georgia, where she inspired and mentored countless students. Later, she continued her passion as a hairstylist at Fantastic Sam’s in Eagles Landing and Locust Grove. Joyce was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord with all her heart and prayed faithfully every day of her life. As a servant and prayer warrior at Encounter Life Church in McDonough, she sang in the choir, poured her heart into women’s ministry, and lifted others in prayer. Her faith was her foundation, guiding her in love, kindness, and service to others. She was so very proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and she loved them dearly. She will be remembered for the love she poured into her family, her friends, and her community. She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. Her legacy of faith, love, and care for others will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
