Katherine Lawson

Katherine L. Lawson, 86, of Mableton, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2023. Katherine was born January 2, 1937 at Georgia Baptist Hospital in Atlanta Ga. In 1954, she graduated from Grady High School. After graduation, she worked as a teletype operator with BellSouth. Katherine married Ralph L. Lawson Sr., on May 18, 1957. The two were each other’s lifelong companions and friends. Katherine worked as Administrative Supervisor, Fulton County Criminal Division for 15 years. After Katherine retired, she & Ralph enjoyed traveling all over the country. Sometimes they would just pack and go without a destination in mind. They really enjoyed the Northwestern states. They also enjoyed many weekends at their lake house with family. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Lawson Dreyer (Adam); a son, Ralph L. Lawson Jr. (Debra); 1 granddaughter, Dara (Brandon); 5 great grandchildren, Tyler, Elyssa, Nathan, Denver, Jason and 4 grand-dogs. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, of 60 years; parents, Clarence and Elizabeth Lanford; sister, Clarice Kennerly; and her granddaughter, Kristin. The family will receive visitors Saturday, August 26, from 10am - 12pm, followed by a memorial service at 12pm at Southern Cremations & Funerals at Cheatham Hill, 1861 Dallas Highway, Marietta.
