Kirk Crissy

September 17, 1959 ~ June 19, 2022

J Kirk Crissy, age 62, of Newnan, GA passed away peacefully at home, Sunday, June 19, 2022, with his son, Connor, keeping vigil by his side. Kirk was born on September 17, 1959, in Bryn Mawr, PA to William John Crissy and Marguerite Crissy. He attended and graduated John Dickinson High School in Stanton, DE. Following high school, Kirk felt a calling to join the United States Air Force, serving for 2.5 years and specializing in aircraft hydraulics as a mechanic. Upon his honorable discharge from the service to his country, Kirk resided in Jupiter, FL briefly, then traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, where he attended Brewton Parker College, obtaining an associate degree in Business Administration. Kirk met and married Jodi Reisinger Crissy in October of 2000 and welcomed a son, Connor Patrick Crissy in October of 2003. Although the marriage ended in divorce, the love of his life was born of the union. Connor was and would always be Kirk's entire world. He was a devoted, loving and kind father. With his degree in business, Kirk built a janitorial service, A to Z Cleaning, which serviced Atlanta area businesses until 2022, when his health declined. Whilst he pared back from the active demands of that career, he began working at Frazier's, LLC in Newnan, GA as a clerk, where he was admired and loved by customers who grew to know him in his two years at their Madras location. Always wearing his signature Fedora when he greeted them. His sense of humor was infectious, as was his optimism. He had a range of hobbies that included crossword puzzles, riding his Harley, artistic welding, various entrepreneurial endeavors, spending time with and reading the Bible with his son. Kirk and Connor shared fellowship in Christ and were baptized together in February of 2020 at Mills Chapel Baptist Church in Newnan, GA. Kirk was called home, and his son honors him with this gathering until they meet again. Heaven received a great father and a great man. Kirk was preceded in death by his mother, Marguerite Crissy, sister, Lynn Cavanaugh, stepmother, Kathy Crissy, and his father, William John Crissy. He is survived by his son, Connor Patrick Crissy, brother, W Scott Crissy (Elizabeth), nephews, Matthew (Charlotte), Michael (Laura), and Mark Crissy and niece, Mary Elizabeth Crissy. The viewing for Kirk, will be from 11-2pm on Saturday, June 25, 2022. A separate graveside service for family will be held on a later date, at Georgia National Cemetery for Veterans, where Kirk will be placed near his father. Flowers are welcome, as are kind words on the Tribute page for Connor to read at his leisure.

  12. I met Kirk 20 plus years ago through Paul Hammond and we competed at some weight lifting events together. He was always such a nice guy. We lost touch for awhile but reunited when I saw him at church and caught up. His positive attitude was something I always admired about him. Even when he was diagnosed with cancer and through his treatments he had a smile and a kind word to say. He will be missed but I know I’ll be able to reunite again with him some day in Heaven. Prayers for the family that God will grant you peace in knowing Kirk is at home with his Lord and Savior.

  13. I will remember Kirk as a kind and hardworking man who loved his son greatly. Much love and prayers to Connor—I know he will make his father proud.

  14. Happy birthday, Uncle Kirk. Love and miss you always. My heart and prayers are with you, Connor.
    Your Cousin,
    Chris
