A Beloved Man Gone Too Soon
An obituary describes a brief biography and yet, the essence of a well lived life is to the glory of God. Brother Lucky Ehigiamusoe lived a purposeful life beyond an abbreviated biography. He was a humble Benin Man who personified humility for self-preservation and respect to others. Brother Lucky Ehigiamusoe's humble background inspired him to live intentionally and purposefully.
Obituary: Lucky Osayomwanbo Ehigiamusoe
Lucky Osayomwanbo Ehigiamusoe, born on September 23, 1950, in Okokpon, Benin, Nigeria, passed away leaving behind a legacy of integrity, hard work, and generosity.
Lucky was raised in Ora Village and began his educational journey at St. Peter's Primary School in Ora. He pursued technical education in Warri and Ozubulu, earning his General Certificate of Examination.
Lucky's professional career began with the Midwestern State Government. His ambitions led him to Lagos, where he worked as a draftsman for Mandilas. In 1974, at the age of 23, Lucky moved to the United States to further his education at Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina. He later transferred to Morehouse College, participating in the Georgia Tech and Morehouse Dual Degree Program in Civil Engineering, from which he graduated in 1981.
Lucky was instrumental in the development of Atlanta's public transportation system as one of the initial contractors for MARTA. He subsequently joined H.J. Russell and Co., where he worked until 1992 before founding his own company, Topple Construction and Engineering, in Atlanta.
The scholarships Lucky received for his education inspired him to give back through the establishment of the Ehigiamusoe Foundation Inc. This foundation has provided countless deserving students with the same opportunities he once had, ensuring his spirit of generosity and support for education lives on.
Known for his humor, discipline, and exceptional skills, Lucky was a devoted soccer fan and a man of moral conviction. His honesty and integrity earned him deep respect among his peers. Beyond his professional and philanthropic endeavors, Lucky was also a talented cook with a penchant for exotic tastes.
Lucky was preceded in death by his parents, Ehigiamusoe Sylvester Ajayi and Madam Inerhuwa Ighodaro, and his son, Egosa Ehigiamusoe. He is survived by his son, Osagie Richard Ehigiamusoe, and his granddaughter, Chloe Glover. His siblings, Edward Ajayi M.D. of Atlanta, Richard Ajayi, Rita Ehigiamusoe, Osazee Ehigiamusoe, and John Ajayi, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins in the U.S., U.K., Canada and Nigeria, will cherish his memory.
Lucky's life was a testament to hard work, kindness, and the importance of giving back. He will be dearly missed by all who know him.
