Margaret Emma Shropshire was born on July 12, 1932, in Asbury Park, NJ to the parents of the late Henry Shropshire and Louella Moore Shropshire. Margaret was educated in the New Jersey Public School System. While in the 10th grade the family moved to Egg Harbor, NJ where she graduated from Egg Harbor Township High School in June 1950. Margaret married Abram Drinks in 1951. Abram preceded her in death along with sister, Louise Shropshire Blocker and daughter Desiree Zachery who passed away in May of 2024.
Margaret later married Rev. Robert Haynesworth who also preceded her in death. Rev. encouraged her in ministry, and she was ordained as a licensed minister by United Faith Ministries, Miami, FL. on December 28, 1994. Margaret supported many churches and ministry functions working side by side with husband Rev. in her role as first lady.
Margaret worked many years in the health care industry in various job titles and retired with numerous awards, certifications and accolades from her employers for working diligently to help place foster children. Family, friends and church folk always wanted her to make her famous potato salad, collard greens and/or seafood salad dish.
Margaret leaves to mourn brother Harry Shropshire (wife Kathy) of Bellingham, WA, sister-in-law Evangelist Juanita Drinks, of Egg Harbor, NJ, sister-in-law Lola Drinks-Beamon of Cottonwood, AL.
