Maryanne Hanes, born on March 2, 1963, and a graduate of North Clayton High School and Chattahoochee Technical College in 1981, peacefully passed away on August 31, 2023. She was a beacon of love and warmth in the lives of all who knew her.
She was a loving and devoted mother to her son, Robert Paul Hanes Jr., and her daughters, Kristina Hanes Culver and Melissa Loper-Shoemaker.
Maryanne's heart overflowed with joy through her role as a grandmother. Her grandchildren, Payton, Wyatt, Kayden, Alivia, Isabellah, Hudson, Harrison, and Willow, were the lights of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her love and dedication to her family were unwavering.
Maryanne is preceded in death by her father, Allen Lamar Dorough, her mother, Rhoda Marlene Dorough, her brother, Walter Dorough, her nephew, Eric Young, and her niece, Nicole Dorough. She now rests in eternal peace, reunited with her loved ones.
Maryanne will be remembered as a loving mother and "Grammy" who placed her family at the center of her world. Her legacy of love and devotion will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
A private family gathering will be held to celebrate her life and the profound impact she had on all who knew her. Maryanne Hanes will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May she rest in eternal peace, knowing that her love lives on in the hearts of her family and friends.
