Obituary for Melissa Jean Rogers

Melissa Jean Rogers, born August 17, 1959, age 66, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Melissa was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose kindness and warmth touched everyone who knew her. She worked for many years as a professional house cleaner, taking pride not only in her work but in the relationships, she built along the way. Melissa had a caring and empathetic heart and was known for her sweet spirit, joyful personality, and thoughtful nature. She treated others with respect and compassion, always putting the needs of those she loved before her own.

She found her greatest happiness spending time with family and friends. Melissa enjoyed collecting interchangeable jewelry and had a special love for her animals, who brought her comfort and companionship throughout her life. One of her other greatest joys was watching all the birds and growing flowers. Her home was filled with love, laughter, and the welcoming presence that made everyone feel like family.

Melissa is survived by her loving husband, David; her son, Chris; her daughter, Elizabeth; her sister. Denise Brogdon; her brother Michael Ray; her cherished grandchildren, Destiney, Meagan, Ella, Deston, Little David, Devon, and Alissa; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Thomas, Aurora, Kyrin, and Ashton; her Niece Joy Ray Bulla; extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.

Melissa’s legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
