Melvin R. Jackson

Mr. Melvin Renard Jackson was born in Columbus, GA on August 15, 1951 to the late Arthur Lee Jackson and Willie Mae Jackson. He departed this life on June 24, 2023 in Atlanta, GA. Melvin graduated from George Washington Carver High School Class of 1971 in Columbus, GA and later attended Morehouse College. He was proud of this accomplishment and was also proud to be selected to play on the Morehouse Maroon Tigers football team. He leaves to mourn his loss, a son, Djuane Edward Jackson and two grandchildren whom he adored. Devin Khalyl Jackson and Madison Khaleah Jackson, all of Atlanta, GA. Those who also will be missing his presence are his siblings, Venecia Jackson Bowers (Dr. James), Derek Jackson (Barbara), Cortez Jackson and Sheila Jackson Ezell (Timothy). Uncle Nard's memory will forever be cherished by several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held at Rose Hill Memorial Baptist Church in Columbus, GA at a later date.
