Michael Richard Griffith

Michael "Mike" Richard Griffith, 77, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, after an extended illness. Born in San Antonio, Texas, on June 23, 1947, he was the son of Melvin D. Griffith and Martha Eugenia Reeves Griffith. Mike graduated from Roosevelt High School in Atlanta in 1965, where he was known for his friendly demeanor, always greeting people with a warm smile and handshake. He spent many years working for Eastern Airlines in Atlanta. A devoted sports fan, Mike passionately supported the Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs. Despite health challenges that prevented him from attending church regularly, Mike maintained a deep faith and a personal relationship with the Lord. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Terry Moore Griffith; his sister and brother-in-law, Dale and William (Bill) Graham; his daughter and son-in-law, Shellie and Lance Ayers; and his cherished grandchildren: Andrew Ayers (Samantha), Caleb Ayers (Erika), Elizabeth Ayers, and Leah Stott (Jeremy). A memorial service will be held at Southern Cremations and Funerals on March 15th. Visitation will take place from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., followed by a service officiated by John Chapman.
