Mildred Montgomery (affectionately known as Mickey) passed away peacefully on May 11, 2023. She was called home to be with her Lord at 9:25 p.m. at the age of 76. Mildred was born in Griffin, Georgia on April 28, 1947, to Marie (Montgomery) Freeman. Mildred spent most of her life in the service of others, working in the hospitality industry and as a full-time mother. She loved her family and was a religious woman who gave graciously to many churches, humanitarian causes and St. Jude Hospital.
Ms. Montgomery was preceded in death by her mother, Marie (Montgomery) Freeman, her daughters Jacqueline and Darlene Montgomery, her son Stoney Lyons and her grandchildren Audrionna Montgomery, Antonio Montgomery and Shakira Montgomery.
Mildred is survived by and lovingly remembered by her sons Terence (Lisa) Montgomery and Michael (Stephanie) Lyons, Sr.; daughters Janice Montgomery and Peggy Frazier; grandsons, David Montgomery, D-nice Caldwell, James Frazier, Jhamarcus Pharaoh, Terence Montgomery, Jr., James Williams III, Michael Lyons, Jr., Jhaelin Lyons; granddaughters, Terra Frazier, Treyonna Fraizer, Jhamiya Jones, Angel Montgomery, Tiffany Sparrow, Nikta Williams, Audriona Lyons, Jhakenda Frazier, Queen Morris, Kayla Frazier, Jhamariya Rodriguez; brothers Artie Montgomery, R.V. Freeman, Sylvester Freeman; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to specially thank Southern Cremations, Grady Memorial Hospital staff and Harbor Grace Hospice staff for their support during this difficult time.
At Ms. Montgomery’s request there will be no public visitation or funeral at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Mildred Montgomery’s name to St. Jude Hospital.








Missing you like crazy Grandma. This ain’t how it was supposed to go but I know God got you. Thank you for everything Grandma. I love you.
Sitting here making a business plan for my clothing line and I wanted to make a tribute to you thanking you for everything and doing a job well down! I miss you BADLY woman….2 years later and I’m still not ok… prolly never will be… I’m crying as I type…. I love you Grandma!
