McDonough Southern Funerals & Cremations
In loving memory of Tyrone (Ty) Edwards, a cherished father and friend, who passed away at his home in McDonough, GA on March 2, 2024.
Born in Valdosta, Ga on February 22, 1961, Ty was 63 years at the time of his death. He is preceded in death by his parents Harold & Anne Edwards.
Ty lived in Valdosta for the majority of his youth. He attended Valdosta High School, where he won several state championship titles for wrestling. He was also an accomplished golfer, being taught by Mr. Dynamite Goodloe for much of his younger years. Ty played for the Valdosta High School golf team and later with the Valdosta State College team. After college he played in a few of the Space Coast golf tour events. He also attended Life Chiropractic for some time.
Ty loved to hunt & fish. He traveled all over the southeast, Midwest and out west hunting white tail deer & elk. Not to mention all over the southern United States hunting turkeys.
In his early adult years, he worked as an over-the-counter trader with Interstate Johnson Lane. He would eventually end up in the hunting & fishing industry as a manufacturer's rep for several companies. This is where his passion lay. He was able to be in an industry that afforded him the luxury of spending time outdoors doing what he loved.
Ty became a father late in life and now has two boys, Jarod Tyler & William Hunter. He was a very devoted and present father. Once the boys were old enough "to go", he rarely went anywhere without having one of them with him. They are almost identical copies of each half of Ty, one being a golfer and one being a hunter. He spent many days on a baseball field coaching both boys or running drills in the front yard. Then later at the golf course teaching his oldest, Jarod, to play the game he loved most. He drove countless hours taking his youngest, aptly named Hunter, hunting in Kentucky, fishing up by the Buford dam or off the GA coast. He would tell you they are his greatest achievements. They are the thing that kept him fighting for so long. He adored and loved his boys with all his being.
He leaves behind his two boys, Jarod & Hunter, his lifelong friend Mr. Darrell Swindle, who was always more of a brother, countless other cousins, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 16, 2024 @ 12pm at the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Jackson, GA. Visitation from 10am to 12pm will precede the service.
In lieu of flowers a GoFundMe has been established. Ty was not able to obtain life insurance after the cancer diagnosis. The funds raised will be for funeral expenses and expenses to help Jarod and Hunter through this transition. If you would like to donate, please click the link below.

When I was around 5 or 6, you dressed up as Santa Clause and came to my house. For whatever reason, you scared me and I ran to my room. Dad, Darrell Swindle, came and assured me that you were the true Santa and I had nothing to be afraid of and I came back out, told you what I wanted for Christmas!!!🎄💚💚💚 I will miss you Me. Ty!! All my love to your family!!!💚💚💚

Ty Edwards stole thousands of dollars from hard working and retired people. He should have gone to federal prison. Google his name and his fraud and punishment by the Securities and Exchange Commission. He was a total fraud.
